About Shania Twain
Shania Twain began as a country music singer, and then later moved to making pop music. She may have sold many, many albums, but her reviews were cutting, perhaps with reason. Crtics felt that she was diluting good country music with bland rhythms and mediocre techniques. Furthermore, she was criticized that she used sex in order to sell her music, which wasn't all that good to begin with. Fans of Shania Twain ignored these attacks, as many of them had gotten used to crossover artists in the past, and in any case welcomed any one who made country western music more palatable.
